We are running a mix herd, transitioning from a pure Salers to a Jersey Salers cross. Our experience has been the eating quality flavour and tenderness is superb in our Jersey Salers. We are using Jersey mums and Salers bulls, keeping the progeny of 2 plus years. Over the next year we will move to milking the mother, having a boutique calf at foot dairy. Cheese, butter, yoghurt.....here we come!
